Care & Use Guide

Daily Care

  • Rinse your teapot thoroughly with hot water after each tea session.
  • Allow the teapot to air dry completely with the lid removed before storing.
  • If you choose to dedicate your teapot to a particular style of tea, avoid using soap to help preserve its natural tea seasoning and patina.

To help prevent damage, please avoid:

  • Placing the teapot directly over an open flame or stovetop.
  • Exposing the teapot to sudden temperature changes (for example, moving it directly from a refrigerator into boiling water or rinsing a hot teapot with cold water).
  • Using the dishwasher or microwave.

Every Hucks Pottery piece is individually handmade. Small variations in shape, surface texture, glaze, and firing results are a natural part of the handmade process and are what make each piece unique.

All glazed surfaces that come into contact with tea are made using food-safe ceramic glazes and are intended for normal tea preparation.

With regular use, your teapot may gradually develop a natural tea patina. Many tea enthusiasts appreciate this subtle change, as it reflects years of use and becomes part of the character of the piece.
